THE HOUSE: Located on a large, cul-de-sac lot in a small HOA neighborhood (dues included in rent - no additional charges), this home shines. You may enter through the front door, which leads you beside the beautiful, mature Japanese maple and gardenia bushes and another small bed that we have used for mostly annual plantings - you're welcome to make this your own as far as planting flowers goes. Through the covered front door, you will enter the foyer which is hardwood, pass the stairs and one large understairs storage closet, plus one coat closet, and enter the dining area/great room. The great room is dominated by the built-in bookshelves which surround a tiled fireplace. The built-in features a desk with plenty of room for a lamp, computer, printer, etc. There is also an area built to house almost any size television. A flat screen could be hung above the fireplace. A windowed door leads onto the back deck which is built to support a hot tub, so feel free to bring yours - it's eletrically wired & ready to go. The great room is separated from the dining area by columns. The dining area is large enough to accommodate a large dining table, buffet, china cabinet & still have room to spare. The half bath is nearby. The two-car garage has an entry to the kitchen - easy for getting groceries into the house! Plenty of cabinet space in the kitchen which also boasts a 6 month old gas oven with gas burners, dishwasher and side by side refrigerator. The sink has a disposal. There is a separate breakfast area which flows into the keeping room with fireplace. This area is linoleum for easy cleaning. You could use a large area rug in the keeping room area to further separate it & make it cozier. All carpet is nearly new, the new trendy shag and a great brown color that does NOT show dirt. I MISS IT SO MUCH!!! :-)
Upstairs features the laundry room which is located in a separate room off one of the walk-in closets in the master suite. I cannot emphasize how much I enjoyed this feature of the home. Hang your dry clothes immediately in the closet. If you HATE putting away laundry, this is the cure! It's easy to do the laundry when you can hang the dry clothes up in your closet immediately! The master bath is HUGE with a shower & separate garden tub. There are two vanities and a water closet for privacy. In addition to the two walk-in closets, there is an office area off the master bath that could also possibly be used as a nursery? It has built in bookshelves with a bench for seating (storage inside), a built in desk and bookshelves & two doors open into the eaves for additional storage! The attic is also available for storage. The master bedroom is very large with a tray ceiling and lots of natural light. There are two additional bedrooms on this level which share a Jack & Jill bath. It has a separate shower/tub & toilet area. Both additional bedrooms are oversized with large closets.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: This is a small (approximately 70 homes) neighborhood with homeowners' association, basketball area and pool. It is a very walkable & bikeable subdivision. In morning traffic, you are about 10 minutes from the Hwy 5/Canton Rd entrance to 75. There are back roads that will put you on 75 further south if you prefer to avoid the Hwy 5 entrance. If you are headed north, it's an easy jaunt down Piedmont Rd/Barrett Pkwy to the Barrett Pkwy entrance to 75. Going this direction, you will pass 575 which will take you to Woodstock or Canton if you are headed that way. Need to get to 400 north? Back roads will get you to the Holcomb Bridge entrance in 25-30 minutes. Planning to stay closer to home? Our favorite outing was the shopping center next to the subdivision - Ace Hardware for ice cream, the Book Exchange for reading material and Johnny's Pizza for lunch or dinner with friendly faces. Want hard core shopping? Town Center Mall is 5 minutes away - lots of shopping here. Restaurants galore - the new Chastain area is 5-7 minutes away, Marietta Square is about 7-10 minutes away and the Town Center area also has many good restaurants. Medical care is so close by you barely need an ambulance. WellStar Kennestone is 7 minutes away. The location is just central to everything.
Schools: Blackwell Elementary is a 5 minute (at most) drive from the neighborhood.
Daniell Middle: is potentially walkable from the neighborhood or a 3-5 minute drive. Recently named a Georgia School of Excellence!
Sprayberry High: 7-10 minute drive from the neighborhood - one road only - easy for a new driver. Many, many awards in both academics & athletics including two National School of Excellence awards and a region championship in football last year.
